Resuscitation Untethered
Community based, midwifery led neonatal resuscitation. An 8 hour neonatal resuscitation course with expanded topics including resuscitation in place, transfers, integration with EMS, team dynamics in the community setting, trauma informed care for both the clients and the providers, and many other community birth specific topics. This course is for providers (Midwives, nurses, birth assistants) desiring an NRP card at the end of the course, and requires extra work prior to the course.
EMS Birth Immersion-WITH NRP card
Birth care for first responders. This is an eight hour course, which includes four hours of didactic/skills for childbirth that covers potential emergencies, and four hours of neonatal resuscitation with specific topics for first responders including resuscitation in place, integration with transferring midwives, emotional support of the birthing family, trauma informed care for both the family and the first responders, and other topics specific to first responders. This course is for first responders (EMS, fire) desiring an NRP Ecard at the end of the course, and requires extra work prior to the course. This course is ideal for initial training, Paramedic Academies, and systems that desire robust training for their staff.
EMS Birth Immersion-without NRP card
Birth care for first responders (without NRP card). This is a four hour course that includes all of the above topics in abbreviated format. This course is ideal for symposiums and conferences, or as an introduction of the topic to a system prior to rolling out the full training. Midwives and community birth attendants are uniquely suited to teaching childbirth to EMS. Our systems are similar in that we often have only 2 attendants, often are in potentially unpredictable settings, and have to be able to improvise with each new scenario.
